Nature of the Institute

1.     The Association of Christ the Emmanuel is a Public Clerical Association of Consecrated Life.

Charism

2.     Emmanuelance: The Charism of the Emmanuelite Association is the special grace (charis) given by God to the Founder and members of the Association of Christ the Emmanuel to enable them prolong Christ the Emmanuel as the Holy One and the all-embracing Saviour by spiritually resembling and magnifying Him and materially reproducing, and amplifying the magnitude of, His salvific works, to carry out their tripartite Apostolate and live out their tridimensional Spirituality.

Spirituality

3.     The tridimensional Spirituality of the Emmanuelites is that which comprises i) an Asceticism that consists in the self-detachment and continuous self-distancing of the human spirit from the malign and seductive spirit, ii) a Life of incessant Prayer patterned to the Lord’s prayer, and iii) a Mysticism that consists in the self-attachment to the Most Holy Trinity as the God-with-us.

Goal

4.     The threefold Goal of the Association of Christ the Emmanuel is the glorification of God, the sanctification of the members and the salvation of humanity. Therefore, all Emmanuelites must seek holiness of life as their divinely set goal.

Consecration (Vows)

5. Emmanuelites consecrate themselves through the public vows, not only of obedience, poverty and chastity, but also of honesty and selflessness, in fellowship with Christ the Lord, to proclaim Him, prolong Him and make Him continuously present in the world until He comes again in glory.
